Regional Meetings2006 At North Star surfaces
2006 Regional Meeting

2006 regional

minn regional Saint Paul is the capital and the second most populous city of the state of Minnesota in the Midwestern portion of the United States and is also the home to North Star Surfaces, distributor of LG Hi-Macs solid surface, Silestone quartz-based surface, Teka stainless steel sinks, and fossilized stone products.

When combined, North Star Surfaces and ISSFA make up the 2006 Regional Meeting, an event truly like no other.

The Minnesota Regional Meeting was held September 15th and 16th in North Star Surfaces main warehouse, right in the center of the distribution network. Members of ISSFA piled in, and with over 200 registered for the event, the seats filled fast. Great food and great networking accompanied the event as members discussed the latest and greatest news and ideas in the solid surface and quartz industry.

The event kicked off with shop tours made exclusive to ISSFA members. Busses shuttled the eager guests from their hotels to one of two different manufacturing facilities for quartz based countertops.

The first stop on the shop tours was Pollux Manufacturing Inc. Founded in 2003 as a state-of-the-art facility, Pollux was established to fabricate engineered and natural stone to the precise designs of it's customers. As fabricators taking the tour saw, Pollux accomplishes this with some of the best machinery, equipment, processes, and people in the world.

The second stop on the shop tours was Stone Systems of Minnesota. With a dedicated hand to the Minnesota market since 1996 and a developed network of satisfied customers, Stone Systems of Minnesota is committed to their leading quartz based brand Silestone. Over time, Stone Systems has added other products such as Avanza and natural granite among other materials to choose from. Fabricators learned that their products include countertops, fireplace surrounds, vanity tops, tub surrounds, shower walls, table tops and floor tiles.

The day ended with a beautifully catered networking lunch and a General Session that included presenters like Sara Braziller on The Principles Of a Lean Enterprise. Vendors were on display with breathtaking exhibits and new innovative products.

On the beginning of the second day, a networking breakfast was fast underway. Fabricators enjoyed more of the vendor displays and exhibits while scheduling time to attend the other ISSFA events, including two business seminars; "The Smart Money's on Solid Surface, Quartz, & Bold, Visionary Fabricators" and "From Fabricator to Business Managers to the Rich Guy Next Door." A delicious networking lunch of Famous Daves Barbeque was served and fabricators were treated to two more shop demos including such topics as "Crossing the Great Digital Divide" and "Fabrication Shops of the Future." The event-packed day ended in the evening with a homestyle dinner and fabricators networking with fellow fabricators, distributors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
