This new, truly low cost open-sided linear Star V model “Basic MLV”-Groover features a space saving design, requiring only 48” x 43” floor space. The standard version comes with a 3HP, 220 volt single phase motor to allow the smaller fabricator to run it in a shop without 3-phase power. The Basic MLV utilizes a 9-1/4” cutter head  for feed speeds of up to a full sheet length per minute.
 
Lease payments of just about $ 20 a working day will allow the budget minded fabricator to utilize the v-grooving method on countertops and vanity tops with good conscience.

However, this v-groover will also be attractive for the larger fabricator, who only has limited volume for v-grooving. Now it is cost justifiable to add this low cost v-groover and utilize the time saving v-grooving production method.
 
Other customers would be companies, which are currently trying to machine their low volume v-grooving needs on their CNC routers. With the new Basic MLV they now have a low cost alternative, compared to the high hourly machine cost of any CNC router.
